It's Coming - The Jaycee's Bridal

by Jenny Bryde 28. January 2011 03:05

It's here, it's here, it's HERE!  The Davenport Jaycees Annual Bridal Fair has arrived and will start promptly at 9am tomorrow!  This is arguably one of the best bridal shows all year!  Here's what the Jaycees have to say for themselves...

"Back in 1985, a few Davenport Jaycees had the crazy idea that the Quad City area needed a one stop bridal fair.  Around 20 local merchants agreed and signed up to be part of such a fair. Thus, Bridal Expo was born. The demand for such an event became shockingly evident, as hundreds of brides arrived to plan their dream wedding at that first Bridal Expo.

Over the years, the Bridal Expo has constantly grown and changed with the times. Whether you are looking for the latest trends or something more traditional, the Bridal Expo is the place to be.

Early on, the Davenport Jaycees realized the difficulty brides have envisioning the attire for their wedding party.  To fill this need, the Davenport Jaycees added a fashion show to model and highlight the latest styles as well as classic looks.  The fashion show was an instant hit and eventually became so popular that it had to be moved to the Adler theatre to accommodate the large audiences.

In addition to serving area brides, the Davenport Jaycees, through the Bridal Expo, serves the community at large. Bridal Expo proceeds are used to fund the Jaycee Santa Program, a 70-year program to provide gifts for over 1,000 area underprivileged children. In addition, the Davenport Jaycees have given over $725,000 of Bridal Expo proceeds to other local causes.

The 2011 Davenport Jaycees Bridal Expo continues to uphold the tradition of excellence. This year's Bridal Expo is projected to be the largest bridal fair in the Quad City area.  Over 135 vendors will participate in the expo and over a thousand brides will attend to plan their own dream wedding.

As our first brides and grooms celebrate their 26th anniversary with us, we look forward to helping you prepare for your wedding."

We will have our booth again featured at the show with opportunities to register to use our site, sign up to enter our $100 gift card drawing, and to say hello to Jami, our vendor relations director and myself!  Be sure to register early here, and we will have preprinted labels for you at our booth so that your hand doesn't fall off writing your name and address over and over to enter all the fantastic prizes!  Even if you forget to register early, stop by our booth because we'll have fresh labels and our trusty printer all ready to spit out your labels in under a minute!  And remember that the first 150 registered brides also receive a tote bag courtesy of QCWeddings.com...you'll need something to put all your SWAG in, right??
