Dress Designers Break the Mould - 2012 Wedding Gowns are Hot and Original!

by Jenny Bryde 12. November 2011 06:20

These past few weeks have left me noticing more and more holiday propaganda being thrown haphazardly all over television, radio, and sales adds.  I can't believe how quickly we have approached the holiday season again!  If this statement serves nothing more than to heighten your anxiety level, let me relieve some of that discomfort.

Along with this year's holiday season ending, we can look forward to 2012 and the fabulous new wedding trends emerging through the dresses on the catwalks.  This year, I feel that designers have taken traditional designs and pumped up the volume and also introduced brand new trends that we haven't seen before.  For example, the traditionally crisp white palette for Vera Wang has been totally replaced by tans, nudes, and even blacks!  The result is a myriad of dress fantasies to embark upon, and so I give you today a first glimpse at some of my favorite dresses from some of my favorite designers...

From Elizabeth Filmore...

From Jenny Packham...

From Modern Trousseau...

From Monique L'hullier

From Reem Acra...

From Rivini...

And from the master, Vera Wang...

I love the daring appliqués, necklines, colors, and fabrics!  Creativity was on board this year with all the top designers!  While we QCA brides would have to make a major trek to Chicago and a major dip in our bank accounts to score one of these dresses, we will certainly be seeing our local designers and stores with some of these same concepts.  So go ahead and drool, dream, and desire.  Your choice in wedding dress should match you and not any stale traditions...
