Straight from the experts' mouths! Today, I've got some suggestions from the titans of the wedding industry on what to expect brides to be wearing in 2011. As a reward for paying attention and taking notes, there are some designer sneak peaks of gowns that were just featured at the Fall Bridal Market which is the wedding industry's version of Fashion Week in New York and elsewhere. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, just know that these dresses are a big f***ing deal according to the Vice Pres.
Anyhoo, in 2011, here are some rules of thumb for what brides may be wearing...
Colors - While shades of white continue to be a popular pick among brides-to-be, many ladies are opting for a bit of color from a gentle ivory to a pale peach to a dynamic color. Either way, gone are the cold-feeling dresses and here to stay are frocks that speak to a happier color palette...
Necklines - The straight across flat necklines seem to be diminishing in number and yielding to dresses that feature a sweetheart, scoop, or v-neckline to accentuate the bride's curves.
Details - Modern simplistic gowns are very popular as are those that feature unique "architectural" details and dramatic hemlines and longer torsos.
Accessories - From belts to embellishments, jewels seem to be springing up all over. Brides are opting from simple all the way to overthe top bling for their gowns.
Now let's see some sneaky peaks at a few of the dresses that designsers have unveiled at this year's Fall Bridal Market ready to be unleashed this spring. I present for your consideration dresses by Angel Sanchez, Christos, Claire Pettibone, and Kevan Hall, shown respectively. There are so many great dress designers out there, but these are just a few of my personal favories.
Sigh..........so, so, so lovely! It makes me want to be a bride each week so that I could wear a different dress all the time!
